C230 rear end noise on cornering
First off >> Happy New Year to all the shopforum folks!!
Next: a big thanks to this august group that assisted me in diagnosing a intermittent misfire on my C230.. It was the ignition coil on #4. Isolated it .. bought new coil > and she's running like a champ again. Now >> new issue>> 1997 C230, 143K on the clock... when I make a hard turn > bad sound from the rear/trunk region.. like something rattling around back there.[maybe >I'll check].. but > what should I expect out of the shock absorbers... shock mounts... bushings... ?? // My son has a 99 BMW M3 and we are looking at major bushing action in the next couple of months.. as it appears that the Rear shockmounts predictably fail after a couple of years.. anything similar with the C230?? How much life/time do you get out of shocks, bushings??

If the shocks were bad you would get nosis over almost any bump OR dip in the road.
Nosies on turns come from sway bar links & c/v joints.....
