Yeah, sounds like pre-ignition. This is caused by something in the combustion chamber running hot and igniting the fuel even without a spark.
The usual causes are poor octane fuel, ignition timing over advanced or carbon deposits. This is less of a problem with injected engines as the fuel supply shuts off when you turn off the ignition supply. |
