Kill The Kat
Hi people,
I've been thinking of removing the catalytic converter in my 200TE. What could be the effects on the performance of the car? power increase/decrease fuel mileage increase/decrease (not much of a restriction on the environmental front) thankz zee

I did this once on an early 80's Dodge V-8. Acceleration from a stand-still suffered.
Pulling the CAT alters back-pressure and that in turns affects things farther upstream. My 2 cents.

putting a new one on can do wonders for an engine, taking one off can cause problems as many engine functions work in conjunction with the back pressure and heat a converter creates.....
