replace the oil pan
 

i have a 1989 300e mb but i dont have a manual for it yet. I need to change the oil pan on it can some one help me on this project

Its pretty straight forward. Unless its a 4matic....then its pretty much impossible.

I can't remember if there's anything in the way of the pan. Otherwise, undo all bolts around the pan and off it comes.

You have to remove the transmission cooler lines, sensors, unbolt lower engine mount bolts, hoist the engine from above, pull out towards the front.

....and please do not forget those engine mount bolts! Learned the hard way.

Yikes....a bit more involved than a 617.....:eek:

Just a tip -- Remove the steering link bar(i think?)....without that removed, it is alot more difficult to try and slide it under and out. Not to mention with a new gasket it makes it difficult to try and avoid tearing the gasket as it is so close and a struggle.
