You would need the V-8 trans as well.

OF course the biggest hurdle would be the fuel & ignition systems!

I read someone is installing a 500E in a coupe, check 500ecstacy if they are up. I "think" the firewall and cross member are different and need mods. Then transplant or modify the wiring. You may want the larger fuel tank, bigger brakes, and heavier springs. Not sure about IL but in CA you need to have a DMV referee station check compliance with smog requirements.

Total nightmare; as stated, springs, brakes and trans are different, whatever MBDoc says - believe it - so now you're up to ignition and fuel system mods, don't forget a new cluster/tach.......we could keep going. Noble goal; it's surprising and too bad MB didn't build V8 coupes. I'd rather have one of those than a 124 cab, which is the current holy grail.

In a nut shell, you are better off just finding another E420.

Unless you reaaaally want to do the project, and expenses are not an obstacle.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering if it could be done, and it can! but at a high cost. So what do you all think of the E320 V6 engine? Does it put down some decent power? I wonder what the exhaust note would sound like with a remus system on there.lol idk just I guess im just so used to honda engines and how easy to work on...I got spoiled.lol So I think im gona buy this 300CE and just get it look PERFECT. and in good, clean running condtion. Even though it basicly is right now. they want $3,099 for it with 160k miles. Black coupe. not cab. But its sooooo sexy. I love it. the paint is in prestine condition. h/o phone call from my mechanic.. news in, needs new alternator but thats it. Head gaskets are good. and AC works fine. suspension is typical for an early 90's car.. looks like im buyin it!!! Cant wait to get back on here guys!!!

thanks for all the help!
