changing brake pads on a 96 C280
I have done brakes on a land rover but never this car. How easy? Any tricks?

Have you tried searching? There should be some info on this. I am not sure mine is the same as yours. The main thing is whether to change the discs or not. They are usually good for 2 sets of pads. If your light is on then you need new sensors which are cheap. A big choice is the brand of pads. There are many brands. I think people here seem to prefer PBR and Textar but I have not tried those.

>> Open the bleeder before you push the piston back into the caliper. That makes them easy to push back in and also gets rid of some of the dirt in the caliper cavity... It also stops that fluid from going back up the brake lines...and it also eliminates the possibility of overflowing the master reservoir. You lever behind the old pads to do this, using the pad to push on the pistons . Then close the bleeder as soon as the piston/s are seated. Then remove the old and install the new.
