All of the front bumpers are the same. Early ones were left natural gray, '90s ones are painted. The impact strip is also the same for all years but painted on the later ones. The license-plate holder is a separate piece (or filler piece if no plate holder).

The rear bumpers changed in '94.

The 94-95 rub strip has a different texture than the earlier ones.

The 86-89 is natural grey, with a black rub strip.

The 90-93 adds chrome trim and paint on the cover, but not the rub strip which remains black.

The 94-95 continues with the chrome trim and painted cover, but adds a smoother finish to the rub strip, and paints it to match the cover.

Is it possible to paon the strip from earlier models than ? I assume now that the bumper cover is the same (or can be modified to install chrome moldings). Is that correct?

I've added the chrome strip to an eariler bumper. You will need the chrome "boomerang"s from the ends of the front bumper, and the clips to install them. Then you need to drill holes through the bumper cover for the pegs on the bottom of the boomerangs, line it up with the bumper edge and you're fine.

I wasn't aware that the earlier textured impact strip was still available in the earlier black PPO with texture, last one I ordered for an '87 came in the smooth finish ABS/PC.
