Question shaking at 55 and above

1987 420sel 200,000 +

had rubber under front end replaced
wheel bearings
brand new brake pads and rotors are good

i shake at 55 and above....could it be a steering box issue/adjustment?

what am i missing? please help....

Tires, tire pressure, alignment... My bet is that you have a tire out of round. I have a set of Michelins with lots of tread on my 300SEL but they have been on the car for a long time and have flat spotted and cause some vibration at 80+

Agreed, TIRES. And then find the cause of the tire wear - old age or bad shocks.

...and idler arm...usually overlooked but quite the culprit if worn...plus, replacement is inexpensive.

wheels may be bent...this typically is what causes shake at highway speeds.
