W201 exterior door handle/lock removal and installation

I have a 1989 190E 2.6 with a damaged front driver's side door. I found a good replacement at a salvage yard. I want to remove the exterior door handle and lock assembly from the damaged one and put it on the replacement door. I can't figure out how it is removed. It doesn't look as easy as a W123 handle & lock (2 or 3 bolts from inside the door, and a tug of the handle out of the skin). Can please provide the procedure or even photographs of how this is done?

I believe there is a small plastic plug on the side of the door (the part that has the door striker, but up high right in line with the lock cylinder). Take out that plug, there is a socket head screw behind it. Take out the one screw, and the handle and lock assembly come right out. Couldn't be easier. This is from memory, I did one about a year ago.

Thanks JonL and cdplayer.
Since I posted, i relocated my misplaced Haynes (British edition) manual and followed recommendations from JonL and cdplayer. I see that it is easy when you have the key, however my replacement door did not have a key. I did my original door first, just to see how it all went together, then I worked from the inside on the replacement door to free up the latch from thee lock. Now I need to put it all back together in the replacement door. All in all it was a good experience.

HOW TO REMOVE A 190 JUNK YARD DOOR LOCK WITHOUT A KEY

I know this thread was covered some two years ago. But recently I have had a need to pull several 190 door locks without having a key to do so properly. It is best to recover good door locks from a junk yard as the donor car's latch will be destroyed. I can only afford 10 minutes maximum per lock because of my workload. Trying to unbolt those Loktite latch screws is not a favorable way for me to go.
It has come to my attention the door lock stems break more often than not. Many people have asked me for a way to fix a broken lock. For those who still want to operate all locks with their master key and do not want to go to the expense of replacing the lock cylinder of one broken door lock, I have looked into recovering good unbroken door locks for their parts.
This way I can help the 'do it yourself' types repair their door locks and still keep their original lock.
Removing the door panel is still necessary. Then look into the space inside the door and near the latch for the base of the lock stem. The stem will be harnessed by a cream color plastic ring inside a metal bracket. Using a large flat head screw driver, break out the plastic ring taking care not to snap the base of the door lock stem off. Now remove the Allen screw securing the lock in place on the door jamb. The door lock, then can be removed from the 190 simply by lifting it out of the door.
