W126 Outside temp sensor

I have just picked up a new temp sensor for the lcd dash display of the outdoor temp. The current sensor is giving inaccurate readings so I ordered another. I have just gone to the car to look at fitting this and the new part is completely different to the old. The old sensor has a metal probe at the end wheras the new one is a plastic intake tube with I presume a sensor inside it somewhere. The new part number is A 126 830 15 72 - can anyone verify that I have the correct part and if so how do I fit it?

Cheers
Matt.
