help!! brake problem 87 560SEL

I just did a brake pad job on all four wheels of my 560SEL. When I test drove it, it squealed like crazy. So I sprayed all four discs with anti-squeal. Now when I hit the brakes, the whole front end shudders as if the front pads are sticking to the discs. Any suggestions would by highly appreciated.

theres a coating on the surface of all break pads. it could be a bad coating that should burn off soon. but thats only one explanation.

It wasn't doing this until after I sprayed it with anti-squeal. If it was the coating on the brake pad, wouldn't it have done this before I sprayed the discs?

squeal

anti squeal brake spray is a sticky substance that is sprayed onto the back of the brake pads prior to installation to allow the pads to stick to the caliper piston to prevent squealing.

stupidity reigns

Yes, I had installed new pads. When I bought the anti-squeal spray the guy at the parts store told me to spray it directly on the discs. After I did that and test drove it, it was shuddering like crazy. Today, I decided that I would read the back of the can!! Then I spent all day pulling the entire brace assembly apart and scrubbing the discs. Now that I've learned to read directions, the brakes are great. I'd like to say that I've learned my lesson, but I'm sure that I will find something stupid to do tomorrow. I know, I know, y'all are laughing at me, not with me, right?

never trust guys at the store, they like to think they are smart. well im glad that you got that resolved. Mercedes sells anti squeal past that you apply to the back the pads, and it works like a charm. well at least now you will read directions

Just FYI, there is a product from LubeGard that does get applied directly to the discs, but it's not a sticky product, rather it's supposed to fill the small voids in the disc surface.

Lube Gard part#90201 Squeak Relief

I don't know that it's what the sales person was thinking of, but it could be.
