Did you check the electrical connections under the seat?

They were loose in my car.

i did check all is connected

I dont know how to get the seat upright again, someone said to try and move seat forward all the way and it would come back up but i did that and nothing.

Have you pulled apart the electrical unit? If not, take it apart and clean all the metal points as they get bugged up with crap. Its a lot of small parts, but very logical. Just be careful when you open it up.

Otherwise if that fails, it is probably the motor.

ok

I just had the seat out, i put 12 volts to all 3 motors under the seat and they all work, there is another motor in the rercliner part but i cant get to it because while it is completely reclined i cant take off the back portion of the seat to access that motor, if i were able to pry thqat open do you think that i may be able to juwst swap thaqt inside motor with another from another seat??
I have 2 sets of cherry w124 gasser seats but they wires/plugs arent the same, i have the small little pins on mine.

W124/W126 Seat Switch Cleaning/Rebuild OR simply 'When the BALLS come out'.

Hello ,
I have recently taken apart my W124 seat switch and cleaned all the connections. I thought that I post pictures because if the switch is taken apart sometimes all parts fall out and it's tricky to put it back together.
It's really quite simply but pictures always help.

1. Unscrew the philips screw from the back

Had to delete this picture because of 5 file limit but there's only 1 screw
on the back of the switch.

2. Use a flat blade screwdriver and release all tabs that hold the upper cover
but make sure that the seat switch stays flat on the table while you
pry.If somehow the covers lifts and you start hearing the steel balls
rolling around that's ok.You'll see soon how it all goes back together.

3. Once the cover is off it should all look something like this

4. The steel balls are on resting on top of the springs and under the springs
are the same steel balls.

5. There are 9 springs (1 hidden under the head rest lever). Head Rest lever
doesn't have tab ( part x in picture ). There are 8 tabs on which I cleaned all contact points with 1500 grid sand paper.I cleaned all the balls and put it all together with the help of my wife's tweezer. When putting the cover back on make sure to insert the green button and 1 and 2 buttons into the cover itself and then put cover back. Those buttons don't stay straight on the white plastic and keep tipping over. Hope this will help someone someday.

6. This lever has to be pryed out lightly as pictured

The wires for the recline motor come down into the memory unit at the bottom of the seat, so you can still apply power to the pins in the socket. Unplug it and apple 12V to the larger pins, and it should come back up. The wires to the recline motor should be grey and orange.
