m119 air pump question

Hello,

I want to check the alternator brushes and in order to do that the fan has to be removed. I had a look at this and it seems easier to remove the air pump bracket instead. I do not have an air pump, it is only supporting the dipstick tube and alternator. Before i do this i want to be sure that the bolts of the bracket do not have any other purpose than just holding the bracket to the cylinfer head ( like timing chain and so on).

Somebody who knows?

TIA

JH
