Angry Help 85 500 Sel wont start

I have a 1985 500 Sel, I just had a new ignition and water pump installed now my car turns over but doesn't start, I was wondering if it had anything to do with the 2 wires that are loose under the steering column one says "amp" on it and one of them is supposed to plug into the steering column but I don't know what it does, maybe i'm way off though, like I said It turns over but won't start and after trying for 2 long the battery dies, also if anyone may have the ignition switch color code diagram that would be helpful I'm pretty sure I installed it right but it cant hurt to double check, thanks everyone

Thumbs up

Are you aware of the timing chain guide rails that like to fail on the V8 cars?

I had a 420 that broke the guide, chain jumped... and that's all she wrote for the top end of the motor.

Pop the driver's valve cover off and take a quick peek before pulling hair out testing all the electronics.
