Door Lock Malfunction 1997 E300D

The driver's side door lock does not respond to my remote key. The lock works just fine otherwise. I thought maybe the batteries were bad so I replaced them but it still doesn't work. The remote does work on the trunk and windshield locks just fine so the problem must be with the lock itself. Just before it quite working it I started having an occassional problem. That's why I thought it might be the battery. Now it never works. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The "central locking" system is vacuum/pressure operated.

Since only that 1 door isn't working diagnosis would start with that door & vacuum loss.

The vacum system is fine. The door will lock and unlock. It's the remote that will not work on the drivers door. Any ideas?

Thanks, dtimmester
