Changing Steering Wheel

I do not dare to do this myself, but wanted to hear from anyone who's changed out their steering wheel.

I'm changing it for cosmetic reasons and wanted to know how much I can expect to pay for labor? Do I have to go to a dealer or will most body shops be competent? Do all the MBs have the same steering wheel "fitment"?
