I have a 2001 SLK230 that I purchase new in Oct. 2000. Mine is the 4cyl. Kompressor model and I have been very satisfied with the car. I change the oil every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1 0-40w synthetic along with a MB brand oil filter, and a MB air filter.
If it is a SLK320, then it has the 6 cyl., which is the second model year for that option.

Around 01 or 02, lots of upgrades, including 6 speed instead of 5 speed. The 4 cyl is known for valve gasket leaks IIRC, not a big deal. It is noiser than the more refined 6 cyl, but can be made to go faster.

The 32 is very fast, started in about 02, and is auto only.

Hydraulic rams on the power top can go out, MB charges a fortune, need to find indy to fix those. Once fixed, they should last a long time.

I looked at these, very nice two seaters IMHO, but for the money, I went with a W124 Cab. Bigger, better built, but no hardtop, and similar or less money, although older car.

Regards,
Jerry
