Help Trans cooling pipe, which line is the inlet top or bottom?

I need some help, trying to install a separate transmission oil cooler with fan temperature sensor switch for my 1991 300se. But do not know which line is inlet and return. Can any one help me out please thanks.
BTW my trans is empty right now other wile I could test with the engine run for a few second, so thank you for any help….cheer

ANY ONE PLEASE HELP!
Is the right hose (passenger side) is the inlet hose to the radiator? and the left hose is the return hose? yes,no? am i correct???

IIRC the driver's side is flow to the radiator cooler side and the passenger's side is return line to the transmission. On my 300TE I installed it on the flow to radiator cooler side. Mark

Whichever one is hotter while running is the outlet TO the cooler.

Thanks Tinypanzer, but my trans is empty now and water was in it. I drain all the oil removed pain, valve body and let it drip for a week now and I'll flush it before install my cooler...cheer

You should drain the torque convertor also.
