Cool Another AC Question (It Must Be Summer...)

Hi, has anyone ever cleaned their evap in place, in a W126? Is it even possible to access it enough to see if it is clogged on the air side with dust? What about evap cleaner sprays?
I have a new Denso compressor and rec-dryer; thinking about getting an exp valve and flushing/ converting back to R-12. My system leaks at the compressor seal, but hasn't wrecked and will cool if there is gas in it. I figure I will break the evap getting the exp valve off then have to pull the dash; weighing this risk against that sweet, cool, air that R-12 sends forth.
