C240 - Engine not as smooth as before
My 2001 C 240 has about 20,000 miles so far. While accelerating, I notice that the engine emits more noise than before. It sounds "gruff"; not as smooth as before. The noise is more prevalent when accelerating from 50mph to 55mph. I wonder if this is part of the wearing process, as more mileage is driven overtime.
Thanks for your input. Johf |

Normal break-in should not cause what you describe. Is everything else okay, like fuel mileage, power and fuel economy?
Sounds like it might be time to spend some time with your local dealer's service department. If you can answer the questions above it will probably help them determine the problem, if any. Good luck, |
