I'm glad you guys worked that out......
Again, Does anyone know what size tap I can use to clean out the cylinder head bolt holes. any help would really be appreciated and also, Thank you for the suggestions that have been posted as well..... I am also going to see what these wire brushes look like at harbor freight and probably pick them up for future projects. |
If your head is warped you will want to have it straightened and then surfaces to make it as clean as possilbe. If warped you cannot just mill the mating surface flat and leave the top humped up because of the cam towers and such needing a true surface to mate to.
There is a specified minimum thickness. If you don't know what it is call Mike at Metric Motors. He will help and stocks small parts that are essential to a proper head job (no pun intended).;) |

That's what I am going to end up doing today (once the stores open), I would like to thank everyone for the heated discussion though, it was entertaining and educational. |
Heat?
Naaaaaah, just a little warm discussion amongst friends. |
I guess warm discussions are ok, As long as it does not break out into any pillow fighting.
also in case anyone was wondering if you want to chase the head bolt threads the tap needed is just a 12mm - 1.75. |
