91 300te hesitates under load in drive
Sorry for the first post being a tech one.
I have a 91 300te that will only hesitate (revs up slowly and not all the way) in drive if you try to floor it, but not flooring it will accelerate fine. if you stick it in reverse and drive it, it doesn't do this. it will not do it in neutral either. the other thing that it does is if you do drive it, it some times will stall when coming to a crawl or stop and then is hard to start. |

Crank Position Sensor, Injectors needing replacement or cleaning (use Redline SI-1 fuel injector cleaner)....come to mind.
Try a few heavy doses of the injector cleaner and see what happens. If it stalls when coming to a stop the crank position sensor (located at the back of the engine) might well be on its way out....good thing to replace for preventative maintenance. If it still hesitates after that stuff....it may need new injectors....they do wear out, and don't atomize the fuel as well, hence flooring it could cause it to overfuel or fuel improperly for a moment, causing hesitation. My car used to do this stuff too until I replaced the Crank Positon Sensor and ran a bunch of the Redline SI-1 through it. Now it runs awesome. The M103 is no tire squealer though, its not ever going to take off "ultra" quick......it makes its power in the upper rpms.....
