300SE Tune Up -Fuel Filter -OR???

The fuel pump whirrs, so I guess it's OK. The symptom of the car is that when it's cold - just after start - for the first couple on minutes or roughly .2 miles the car does not accellerate evenly. It kind of hesitates, then it's fine. Fuel pump? Tune up? Other?? I've had the car about a year & changed only the air filter to date.

That actually sounds like the EHA to me. My 260E does the same thing and I know its the EHA because I tested it in my wagon too and I get the same symptoms. Once the engine warms up, its fine, but when its cold, the engine seems to bog down under acceleration.

Has this happened recently, or a slow progression?

I would definitely do the fuel filter first though.

Never hurts to do a tune up.

At least you'll be eliminating variables. It's money you'll have to spend either way to keep your car in shape. If you don't know when the car last got a thorough tune up, I think it's time to start. Treat your car well and it will treat you well back.

EHA

Thanks - I will do both tune up and fuel filter, but what's an EHA?
