May 14, 2009 6:18 PM GMT EBAY HAS ROBBED US FOR THE LAST TIME... WE ARE MOVING ALL OF OUR EBAY GOODS TO Bonanzle... WE WILL SEE HOW IT GOES.. somebody that has a problem selling on ebay. there's another complaint of theirs. I'm not one to work with a vendor that can't play nice with others. Bad Karma like that rubs off on others. But that's just me making a general statement. I have had no direct contact with these folks to have a strong opinion. -CTH |

You would hold it against someone if they don't like Ebay?

Ok after seeing this post I thought I would do some research and found ou this info. 1. this is a VERY Small operation (1 guy) who lives and works in his shop, he has Limited supply on some items but does have the resources to get parts ( at I am sure a mark up) My suggestion is just deal with Phil from Peachparts and discuss prices with him ( He is VERY FAIR, but keep in mind that somepeople make their living selling parts to us, so dont insult him)

If I might say so, I think that it is quite RUDE to come onto a site that sells parts and ask about another parts supplier.
This is very much like walking into your local auto parts store only to stand at the counter and discuss OTHER auto parts stores in the area. For almost ten years that I know of, this forum has provided a valuable service to those who come here looking for help. In return they get to sell parts to those who are interested in buying from them. In return for their providing us this forum, at the very LEAST, we can at least not discuss other parts sources. This is just common decency. Did your Momma never teach you any manners? My $0.02, |

Normally, I MIGHT agree with you but like everyone we all want to know who we are doing business with and that is the spirit of this post.

here's my little spot on Mercedes parts...I say use the dealer for parts. My 1990 300TE needed a new star hood ornament because I was playing with the one that came with the car and the assembly came apart on me, because I'm an idiot. Anyway, I looked on the most outstanding World Wide Web and the least expensive replacement star was $35 plus shipping. I went to the closest Mercedes dealer and they had the part in stock for $30 ($32.48) with tax and then had a mechanic install it for me! So, as far as I am concerned, always look to the dealer first for virtually anything. The Internet sucks and anyone who believes that this is end of all means is sadly mistaken....beware so say I....

I always call the stealership first.
(a) Sometimes the part is cheaper there. (b) You can always get the correct part number for your particular car - with the VIN number. I always get them to email me a quote with the part number and price. Then I start looking at competitive pricing. |

"If I might say so, I think that it is quite RUDE to come onto a site that sells parts and ask about another parts supplier.":
No, Larry, it's not rude. What's rude is to establish a website where you tell people they can discuss whatever they want, and then beat them over the head and censor their posts when they discuss something you don't like. The last, and only, time I emailed Phil with a question about parts, I didn't receive a reply. Admittedly, he wouldn't have made much money on my order, but maybe he would have made more money on my next order. Now I am undecided whether to purchase parts from him, or if I am wasting my time by communicating with him. So I emailed ********** with the same questions regarding the two small parts, and received a reply within 3 hours. I placed the order with them instead.
