HELP... W140 Stuck in limp mode

All,
I have a 97 S500 that's stuck in limp mode. I parked the car after a 7 hr drive, got in it 1 hr later and the 3 amber and one red brake lights came on. The spedo does not move and the steering is "heavy". I checked all the fuses and disconected the battery. I have reverse and one forward gear. Any ideas?
Also, I am in Port Clinton, OH; anyone know of a good indy in the area?

Cheers,
Steve

Most likely a blown fuse in the base module.

Base module is in the computer box at the RR section of engine compartment.

Update on the problem. It went away 24hrs later. I have been driving it since. It does occour intermitently though. Most times it goes away after driving less than a quarter mile. This morning however, it took a couple of miles and went over a bump in the road(coincidence?) before it kicked out of "Limp" mode. I did check the fuses and they are good. After doing some research today, I was going to check the ASR/ABS system, brake switch, speed sensors and the ABS relay. I think I found the plug on the right side of the engine compartment. Is there a code reader to connect it? I did plug an OBD reader into the plug under the steering wheel and did not get any codes.

Cheers,
Steve
