I second what Bob just wrote.
Do a search on this forum for "Floating 300E", thrust arms, etc. (the various rear suspension pieces back there) and you'll find a wealth of information which will likely relate directly to your particular set of symptoms. The first time my 300E sidestepped on an off-ramp which I entered hot scared the physiological waste out of me. Until I had the problem cured, it was the last time I went into a corner with any real speed.
