now that I have my door panel off, I noticed, when lowering my right rear window on my '87 300D, it goes tooooooo far down, and now won't go far enough up!?

how do you correct this!?

I would take off the other door panel and make sure the window and regulator are attached the same way.

I would guess that the regulator needs new bushings or the connection between the bottom edge of the glass and the regulator slipped.

If you pull up on the window while pushing the button, it should close all the way. At least, that is my experience with sticky regulators on W123s.

The rear regulators on the W124 are completely different from a W123....instead of a scissors/gear drive setup, its literally a cable driven elevator that raises and lowers the glass.

I tried the push/pull ordeal, it as i noticed is WAYYYY different than any window I've had to mess with.....
I think, somewhere the cable stuck, it thinks its all the way up, and when its all the way down, it still has travel, and when it "thinks" its down, its already off the track... I can't get it figured out

A plastic piece on the regulator breaks which allows the linkage to the window to rotate 180 degrees which causes the window to lower too far and not raise enough by approx. 2". Either buy a new regulator or you can remove the regulator, rotate the piece back into position by 180 degrees and drill 2 small holes (dremel tool) through each side of the broken plastic piece that used to locate the connection point in position and safety wire the connection point in position. My neighbor recently performed this nifty repair to his son's 300TE (used to be mine) and I believe it will work for quite some time. Mark

I actually, disconnected the whole assembly, pushed it up so the window would close, then jammed something (neatly, and carefully) under it to hold it up ((for now))

Might want to disconnect the motor so you don't accidentally hit the down button and break something......
