96 C280 door lock

My 1996 C280 has a problem with the driver side door lock.
I cannot unlock nor lock the car via this port.
I have to use the trunk port, which locks the entire car.
Is there a vaccum part that has worn out?
Is it a procedure that I can perform or will my mechanic need to do this?

Check under the rear seat for the vacuum (PSE) pump. If vacuum is ok, then the door lock actuator is faulty, need to be replaced unfortunately.
