Installing front cover, m104

I was reading here on the forum, one of the members recommends installing the front timing cover first, and then installing the chain guide pin....since i will be doing this in a day or so, i wanted to see your feedback on this. It will make sealing and properly installing the front cover much easier, and i don't think the guide pin is as critical at the moment since the chain tension is holding the guide in place....

opinions please, what do you guys think?
