I am experiencing hard shifts. This may be a solution. But honestly I am frustrating with it and probably will bring the car in.

MBDOC, do I need to take out the valve body to change those? I was not clear about your answer.

Thanks!

Cool that it's fixed, but sorry to hear you needed a new valve body. Do you mind posting how much it cost $$$? For the rest of us high-mileage 722.6 owners to save for a rainy day...

Also, did you replace the conductor plate (electrics kit) with the VB, or did you use the original? And if you replaced the conductor plate, did you get a new ECM? Because I think they are matched to the conductor plates...

It is a fully rebuilt valve body, including the plate for about $600 and then labor $400. Paid 1000 out the door. not sure what reprogramming was required, but it runs better than I ever recall it did.

How does one know that it is the valve body that is causing the problem? My tranny seems to slip at times which is why Im replacing filter and fluid. The fluid was black but no burnt smell and no metal shavings of any type. Pretty clean overall.

Just wondering what I can or should do while the pan is off? Also adding a magnet. Any advice?

I had the old conductor plate replace because i got the code p0715 speedsensor/transmission issue. but the car does a hard shift when put in reverse or drive it still doing the same as before when put in gear my question is do i need to have the new conductor plate program for it to work properly or is something else going on. Thanks anyone.

You do not have to remove the valve body. 722.6 Pressure regulator spring replacement - Mercedes-Benz Forum

That link shows it being replaced in situ. Replacing my spring made a nice difference.
