Battery additive
VX-6 battery additive, found on JC whitneys web site and catalog for $5.00. Suppost to be a big seller over a million sold, so someone in here might know something about it or experiences with it.
Heres the deal, I plan on installing an Interstate MTP-93 that has 850 CCA and add some VX-6 to it. This is for a diesel, winter time is coming soon and my battery is 5 yrs old (and went dead from being discharged all the way many times) and I am thinking about changing it now, before the weather gets too cold. Any thoughts or suggestions? |

5 y.o. battery? WOW! Thats one heck of an energy casing.
I change my batteries once a year - as of routine. And I never like adding any additives. I simply don't believe in them. I tried it once, and the battery went dead on me. That was the last I ever thought of battery additives. Save your money. Thats my thought.

Check the battery FAQ's on the internet, and additives in the electrolyte have shown no measureable improvement.
Save your money. Better yet, get an OPTIMA battery. Ours have last now over 5-years, other's have had theirs for over 10-years! They don't leak! You can get an OPTIMA or made by OPTIMA battery on Ebay for about $69-$80 :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1995 500E |
