M103 thermo vacuum switch...

Its the part attached to the head that has 2 vacuum connectors to it

Anybody know exactly "what" it does? I noticed mine is cracked on my 260E.

At some predetermined temperature, determined by the color, it opens and 'passes' vacuum.

If yours is cracked, replace it with a new one of the same color.

Ok I won't try and fix it myself then...I'll just get a new one.

Maybe that's hurting my mpg a bit? I thought 20-21 seemed a tad low for the 2.6.
