300e motor and trans mounts

Hi all,

I am going to replace the motor mounts and trans mounts in my 1992 300e. It just seems as though the idle and shifting has gotten slightly rougher over time.

My question is does anyone have a good experience with any of the aftermarket brands available on peach parts or fastlane? I don't want to go through the hassle to replace without good parts.

Thanks for the wisdom!

Yeah those mounts are filled with pressurized fluid and cost an arm and a leg each. I had mine replaced with Phoenix brand and they seem to be OK. If in doubt just go for the most expensive.

From experience with my W201s, the OEM motor mounts seem to last longer than the OEM-like brands.

The car is an automatic. The idle has gotten much rougher in the last two years very incrementally. The motor does seem to shift around quite a bit. The auto trans has started to shift slightly rougher during this same period. Don't know if new mounts will help this but can't hurt.

smcgeary, suggest that you buy genuine MB parts. Check prices at several MB dealers.
