E420 Odometer Gear
Anyone know if you can order individual gears for this odometer? The small gear that drives the larger black gear disintegrated (I'm pointing to the shaft with the ice pick). The part number on the odometer is 437.203/021/016. Thanks in advance.

yes,
I did my Dodge with a hella speedometer last year. They are sold by # of teeth. You'll need to count carefully. The replacement are aftermarket cut from Delrin on an EDM machine. I wanna say some transmission supply places carry them. I googled them up and they were about $35-40 ppd for 2 gears. Michael |

Thanks. There was about a 30 degree sector left on the shaft and it fell off as soon as I touched it with the ice pick. I'm not going to be able to count the teeth on it because it disintegrated.

That makes it more tough... I believe the originals were color coded.
I would suggest that you might just invest the $75-100 and have a spedometer shop fix it. M |

I haven't checked the EPC, but I just presumed that MB did not sell the individual parts for the odometer. Probably a spedo shop would be my best bet. It only takes five minutes to pull it out of the car.
