OVP FUSE?

WHAT IS AN O P V FUSE?

THANKS

It is the fuse of the OVP (OverVoltage Protection) relay. What is your car?

OVP is overrated that's what

the OVP fuse has to be one of the most abused repair item on, at least, W124s, it's always something else but they will knock for the OVP...it's never just the fuse...gotta replace the entire OVP......So, you are looking at $200 for an OVP..... it's typically something like the spark plugs....

does anybody have a part # for a 1990 300ce opv relay.
are they the same part # as the 300e ones??

Same part number for many models.
Here is one part number : 201 540 37 45

get the latest version. You can get one of these of this forum sponsor.

Generally the fuse will blow on reversed polarity. The internal electronic components wear out on these (lose their properties)

You can source a second hand for cheap. If it solves your problem then buy a new one.

The fuse on my unit was intact but the OVP was inoperative ,with telltale symptoms including cold starting problems and warm up.

On Opening the unit .the solder joint at the zener diode connection was bad ,resoldered and the unit is still operational , 3 years on.
similar re soldering works on the fuel pump relay when it starts stalling the engine. age /vibration related soldering failures.
