Non-MB engine question.

1990 Dodge Spirit with the Mitsu 3.0L V6

Front seal leak and head gasket, a bit of what sounds like rod-noise, but only at higher RPM, and only in P or N.

Is there a discernable difference in sound between Connecting rod bearings and crankshaft bearings?

Hi,

I would try some sealer leak before replacing the seal.

Rod bearing noise: a loud tick, tick, tick
Crankshaft bearing noise: a heavy thud noise

This is beyond leak sealer doesn't leak when engine is off, but spews about a litre a minute when running the Engine will need to be rebuilt anyhow, I just was preparing myself to buy a crank or not.
