126 cabin air filter?

I've been away from 126s for a while. I ran across this 87 SDL and noticed what looks like a cabin air filter at the base of the windshield. Is this standard issue, a factory option or aftermarket addition?

Thanks,
Sixto

126 Chassis does not have a cabin filter.. This looks like an aftermarket addition.
