89 560SEL
Greetings All,
As you can see in the pic attached the switch has fallen beneath its proper place. Does anyone have instructions on how to take this part of the console out and fix it? Thanks!!

I would like to suggest if you have the ashtray out already, remove the plug from the radio that trips the alarm rendering it useless. It is a large plug with a single wire.
Also, if you have the radio code... write it atop with a large permanent marker so you always will have it.

Dumb question....so don't laugh
Is there a catch that will release the ash tray to pull it out? Also, is there a wire I need to worry about that would be attached?

As in the actual pull out part of the ash tray? No, just pops out.
On the main frame of the ash tray, yes you will disconnect the small illumination light as well as the power to the lighter.
