1985 500SEL Loss of power and surging
It is not all the time. I just feels like it is not getting enough fuel. I have put a new filter on it and the pump is less than 6-months old. When you want to accelerate, it surges and shutters and the vacuum guage seems to move farther over into the red than usual. I disconnect the fuel lines at the distributor and blow air throught them and that seems to help for a day or so.
I suspected it was a clog in the fuel tank strainer but now I am wondering if it is something else. When I adjust the CO screw, the idle seems to smooth out. but I have to adjust it again every once in a while. Please help!
