190E Auto -> Manual Conversion: Neutral Switch

I just finished a manual transmission conversion on my 1993 2.6 190E and had a question about neutral safety switch.

the automatic neutral safety switch was on the transmission as 3 wires, purple, purple striped white, and brown. to get my car to start, i soldered all 3 together. what this does is actually make my car in neutral mode the entire time, so I'm running into problems with cruise control and maybe ABS?

how do I properly wire this to my clutch pedal? the switch on the clutch pedal gives me continuity when the pedal is up, and continuity is broken when clutch is pressed, which is not what I want. I need the switch to be on when the clutch is pressed, and off when clutch is out.

thanks in advanced.
