W124 auto-closing roof with remote
Hello, I like car electronics. I just installed a cheap keyless remote entry system in my w124 200E (1990) connecting it to a green wire on the vacuum pump. The system works great, but I want the sunroof to close automatically when I close the car with the remote.
I inspected the Convenience Control Unit (sometimes called Comfort Control Unit, it's located under rear seat, driver's side), I have 3 connectors: xC (sunroof), xD (doorlocks), xE (power). The 2 connectors xA and xB are for power windows, they're missing because I have got manual windows.
I connected a timed relay to the remote entry system, it powers on for 8 seconds (the time needed to close the roof) and then it shuts off.
I cut a wire on the Convenience Control Unit and connected the relay in a way that the motor receives +12V on the "close" pin. It works, but only with the key in "ACC" position or the door open!
I'd like to bypass this block, leaving all other functions enabled. In other words, I'd like to close the sunroof with the door closed. I have several 12V relay at my disposal, so I can use them.
Any advice?
Thank you.
