As John said, a red flag for any of us is that snake oil salesman like to throw the name "NASCAR" as a user of their products.

500 SL Guy.... Dude......... Seriously.....

You might want to try and peddle that crap in a forum where:

A) Users aren't so knowledgeable about their cars
B) Users' cylinder walls aren't coated with silicon from the factory

You're trying to sell a homemade bullet-proof-vest to a guy sitting in a tank. Give it up. Or don't, this is actually somewhat entertaining. It's probably just re-labeled Clunker Bomb to begin with.

Here is some hilarity I copied from their website, a "testimonial" from Dennis Simmons, a person who does appear to actually exist, as does his company.

"One interesting fact on my Office Managers vehicle is that is notice before the treatment with CerBond at 70mph the rpm's were at 2,200 rpm's. After the treatment at 70mph the rpm's were at 2000. That is very impressive showing the engine is working a lot more efficiently."

This crap dropped his RPMs by 200 @ 70MPH? I can't even begin to tell you what is wrong with that statement. Unless his trans was slipping and this crud somehow fixed it, that's just scientifilogically UNPOSSIBLE.

And my favorite statement:

"Does CerBond void any warranty?
No, CerBond™ does not void warranties and is 100% guaranteed."

Oh yeah? Okay, which manufacturers have given their approval? Prove it! Or, is it just that this crap doesn't do or leave behind anything so nobody will ever know that you used it?

Awww, c'mon now guys! Aren't you being a little harsh on the guy? I mean, I went to the site and it has animation which shows it works! How much more proof than that do ya need?

No I am not!

I read your post and until that time had not heard of the site. But after checking I found it to be one of the IHRA drivers using CerBond!

I find all of y'alls postings on CerBond quite interesting, mostly guess work and assumptions rather than checking something out completely before making an assumptive and/or sarcastic comment.

Rather than guessing about something why don't you try it out, since it comes with a 100% money back offer & is fully insured, (so you have nothing at risk) and then tell us factual findings based on real knowledge?

I have been using it for a year now and it is still providing the benefits they represented it would provide. It might also benefit you to contact a few of those that gave testimonials on their web site (as I did) as according to their experience they too received the benefits it shows on their site.

It might also interest you that I have since treated my 05 Suburban (gained 2.8 mpg) and my 08 Porsche 911 (gained 3.6 mpg)

In closing, the post on the RPM dropping 200 at 70 MPG, I got the same in my 500 and the Suburban (actually 275 drop in the Suburban). They told me to watch for that when they installed the stuff. I have not seen it yet on the 911 as I just put it in last week. But I will be back to report once that is done.

By the way, the real reason I joined this site was to see if there was anyone that could help me with my issue on my 84 500 SL! But when I see these kind of assumptions by so many, I am not sure I can trust anything y'all say!

The funny part is, you don't even know how obvious your pitch is, ... especially the droppiing RPM one ROFLMAO!

Find a forum where people are more gullible.

Oh, and welcome to the forum 500 SL SpamMan

???

I see you just can't stand that someone takes the time to research something you know nothing about. Thus, you are left trying to come up with more sarcastic remarks which just goes to show how little you know.

Prove me wrong and I will retract...

But do it using facts not fiction and assumptions and out of date thinking that you have twisted to mean something insignificant. If OEM's new engines are are using a coating of silicon, do you not think that smooths out the cylinders? Gee something one of you said was so bad what, Tuesday?

I am not pedaling anything. I just responded to ones question asking if anyone has tried it! Then you started attacking me and the product after me simply stating the benefits I saw with it. Take a chill pill and research it yourself if you want to make intelligent comments about it!

Or I guess you could just keep slamming something you know nothing about and are too lazy or too dumb to research properly!

The silicon is a process that hardens the cylinder walls, doesn't make them smooth, ... but then I'm sure that your extensive "research" would have shown you that LOL.

I'll have to order some now, will you please ship a pair of fuel-line magnets, an intake vortex-generator, and a hydrogen generator with it as I'm going to make my car produce fuel.

Hey guys, take it easy on 500 SL Man. I put some of it in my C320 and my gas mileage is so good I have to stop every 10 miles and let the extra fuel out of the gas tank.

OK Chuck whatever you say.

If you look at Chuck's Linkedin page, it says they started selling the snake oil in Feb. 2009. If you read the testimonials on his site there are some from 2007. The product is so good that it worked before it was even for sale.

500 SL Man, I am one of the few people on this board that studies metal surfaces for a living. I also know how to approach such studies. I'm also paid good money simply to review the work of others as well as SAE papers. Nothing has been presented to me on CerBond or CerMet that would convince me that this product has any merit. I only see red flags.

I have also seen new technologies in development here in Detroit where the companies are taking great pains to develop dimples on the hardened cylinder wall surface. These dimples are to provide reservoirs that hold the oil, necessary for cylinder wall lubrication.

I'm still waiting to hear how one causes the "ceramic" to cross-link and/or bond to the surfaces at these temperatures. And isn't free ceramic also an abrasive media?

But I'm convinced, going to apply it to my snake-skin boots today.
