cheers for the reply ps2cho. i replaced the lambda sensor in my car with a new one a few months back. I think the lambda sensor is the same thing as the o2 sensor? As I'm in the UK the sensor i replaced was on the drivers side, the wires run under the carpet but the actual sensor i replaced is underneath the car.

Completely stuck on this problem guys, my normal mechanic hasn't been able to sort it either!
