Torque values and GREASE IT??
1985 500sel w126
Front suspension, bearing bracket which hold2 the two large bushings and the guide rod. What torque are the bolts for the bracket to the frame?? Also, is there anywhere online to obtain "torque values' for a mercedes, a chart or whatever? Also, do the lower control arms get any lube on the face of the bushing where they meet the frame or on the eccentric bolt which passes through?? PSS: When installing the lower control arm bushings, "freezing" them in the frig made it a lot easier to intsall. Thanks God Bless John Last edited by John1; 05-14-2010 at 05:13 PM. Reason: Change |

I've never run across any sort of table. I made one for my car -- a 1998 E320 wagon for torques and fastener sizes.
Most of the WIS procedures have torque values at the end. As a last resort you could buy a 1 day subscription and download any procedures of interest. I believe its about $20. Good luck. |

That is MB's online Workshop Information System. It consists of all of the factory maintenance procedures for all models. I don't have a subscription but I do have a DVD for all W210 models which was for sale up until about a year ago. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is one for the W126 either.
FYI - There's a thread on Front End Rebuilding over on: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126-s-se-sec-sel-sd/ |
