Looking to buy 1984 190E--input wanted
I'm looking at a 1984 190E. Vehicle has approx. 200k on engine and automatic trans. The car has been parked for the past two years. The gas was at about a quarter tank when parked. So when pulled out of storage, the tank was filled and restarted. so I'm guessing the injectors will probably need a good cleaning as the car has what seems to be a miss. Also it may need a tune to help with that miss. Vehicle was a little slow starting but may be from that miss. Body, and interior are in great shape, with all power windows in working condition. The sunroof was a little slow in closing but did close. The key for the door is missing and will need to be replaced.
Are there any issues with this model that I need to be concerned with? What can I expect mileage was to get out of the engine and trans? What is the fuel economy like? Your input is appreciated. Thanks |

Biggest issue will be related to the fuel system.
Would imagine the fuel tank will need to be removed & cleaned.

190 issues
"The key for the door is missing". Well, all the locks are keyed alike, so if the key starts the car, it should lock the doors.
At 200K miles, critical to check the ball joints and flex disks. The electric window regulators love to break, and the door checks have a nasty habit of getting stiff and then getting stuck with the door open and unable to close. |
