1993 300E 2.8 - No start - possible ATA ?

Hello,

A 1993 300E with the 2.8 came into my shop - no start complaint

1) found no signal passed from ignition to starter
a) nuetral safety switch closed - ok
b) found no signal passed form ignition to nuetral safety switch

2) found signal leaving ignition switch VL wire
a) looked up the OE wiring diagram ( which mine is not comprehensive )
1) found signal maybe passed through an ATA ( anti theft alarm relay )
2) compenent location not very clear somewhere under dash driver side
3) owners know of no ATA system that they know how to reset
b decided to pass teh ignition signal VL to GN/VL wire feeding nuetral safety switch
! It worked - ten I put the kick panel back etc started and noticed that there are no gauges indicating ie : tack fuel temp etc
* what is this ATA system and what does it control ?
In other words where is my primary feed for the gauge cluster ?

Thankyou
