Aux fans - what direction rotation
Dumb question of the day.
My 1990 300SEl engine temp is good at highway speeds (80 -82 degrees). When I slow down for traffic lights it starts to rise. In stop and go traffic it can get up to 100+ within a minute or two, and continue to rise. Clutch fan seems ok. Turns with light resistance when engine is cold, stops within a couple revolutions when warm engine is shut off. My dumb question is what direction should the aux fans rotate? The PO has done some unusual wiring under the hood. The aux fans come on when the engine is started ( hot or cold ). From the front of the car they rotate ccw. The fan blades look to me like they should go cw to blow air through the radiator. I am assuming they should blow air through the radiator and not pull air from the under hood area. That would defeat the purpose of the fan clutch. Where can I get a wiring diagram for the aux fans? Thanks for your help. Ken

The fans should take air from the front of the car and push it back through the radiator.

Clockwise, as you face them from the front.
