Question 210 seat heater

I've read all the threads about replacing the seat heater pads on 210s. There seems to be different answers as to whether or not the heater pads are sewn to the leather. Can anyone tell me for a fact how its done? I had my driver seat apart today, though not entirely, and I couldn't determine for sure.

FOR A FACT, the heating elements are sewn into the upholstery.

Rather than replace upholstery it's known to insert separate pads from, perhaps a C-class.

Anybody can subscribe to the Mercedes parts system and look this sort of thing up.
