I have a 92 300CE with a dead 80A alternator. Can I replace it with a 90A. Can get on for a rebuilt for $20 on this site vs $170 new rebuilt

As long as it mounts the same (pully can be swaped if it's different from yours) and if it provides the minimun amperage output required for your car, then you should be good to go. A little more amperage would be fine, but less would not be good.
