W124 E200 - Question about Security

Hi,

I've just had a bit of an issue with the door locks, all the remote locking works fine. But I've noticed that when I lock the doors now the passangers are unable to open the doors and get out unless I un-lock the drivers door. All the child locks are off on the rear doors, and there no child locks on the front. I've had the car for years and there is no alarm fitted, only security I have on the car is a factory MB imobiliser fitted by the dealer at new, this locks the car in reverse when I remove the key. Do the cars have deadlocks fitted which I have somehow activtated, the problem has only just started this last week, and I cant find anything a miss all the conectors ect are in order and the pump seems ok under the rear seat.

Thanks

In the drivers panel is the wire to the drivers door, most added systems are tapped to this wire and it falls apart alot. Pull the door kick panel unscrew the driver kick panel, remove and look for the wire. Other spot if a wire has corroded is under rear passenger side under carpet leading to the vacuum pump. If its not that try a new relay.

Thanks for that, I found a small section of wire that had corroded under the carpet, and it looked to be earthing on the body. I've soldered in a new section and all good at the moment. It all looked ok when I removed the kick panel on the driver side door and nothing looked out of place.
